Responsible Welding Co-ordinator

Harris Pye are currently looking for a Responsible Welding Co-Ordinator to join our team on a permanent basis in Llandow (CF71). Previous experience working on engineering projects such as Steel / Nuclear / Energy / Power Plant / Waste to Energy would be beneficial.
**Responsible For**:
- All welding related works and documentation
- Maintaining EN1090-1 certification (Welding part)
- Maintaining ISO3834-2 certification
- Qualification of welding procedures and welders/welding operators
- Validation of welders/welding operator qualification (UK & EU)
- Calibration of Welding machines
- Inspection and Control of weld consumables
- Measuring and reporting welding defect rates
**Job Purpose**:
Named responsible person for ISO384-2 & EN1090-1
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Ultimate accountability for all welding works of Harris Pye UK and EU, in accordance with specifications
- Review of RFQ’s from Client for welding capability and coverage
- Ensure qualification of welding procedures (WPQR) in accordance with the Project requirements
- Ensure qualification of Welders (WPG) / Welding Operators (WOPQ) in accordance with the Project requirements.
- Maintain and update a database of all Welding procedures and Welders
- Audit the welding activities and processes and report on the same.
**Key Skills / Knowledge / Experience**:
- The RWC shall be suitably experienced with a trade or higher qualification in welding and well conversant with the applicable Construction and Welding codes (BSEN, ASME, AWS) for piping, structural and pressure vessel construction.
- Shall be certified CSWIP 3.1 an inspector or 3.2 as a senior inspector.
- Having a IWE or RWC qualification shall be an advantage.
- Well versed with BSEN15614, ASME Sec. IX, AWSD1.1 & BSEN9606 standards
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Ability to dictate/recommend the best welding process to be used on projects
- Ability to select welding procedures and welders based on project requirements
- Knowledge of testing requirements for WPQR/WPQ/WOPQ.
- Knowledge of Pre-heat and PWHT requirements for welding procedures.
- Ability to produce the required Welding procedures and Welder Quals
- At least 7 years’ experience as welding inspector of which at least 2 years should be as a welding supervisor.
- Experienced in independent welding procedure qualification and Welder/Welding operator qualification
**Working Hours**:
Monday-Friday. 8:00-4:30

**Rate**:
£45,000 a year
