As a General Purpose Relief role, this post is responsible for covering unallocated turns on the roster and will be notified 4 days in advance of the following week which station, or set of stations in the South Buckinghamshire area and the shifts the post will cover.

You will also be responsible for the promotion and sale of all products and services offered by National Rail including all forms of reservations, National Railways core products and National Railways tickets. In addition you will demonstrate high levels of customer service in providing general assistance to customers as required including disabled assistance, information and customer information via the Public address.

You'll be responsible for providing a high level of customer service and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation at your station. For the most part, you'll be in the booking office but will have responsibility for the whole station including the car park.

You'll be providing general assistance to customers including disabled assistance, route information, and ticket sales. A positive, customer-focused approach is a must for this role.

**Earliest shift start: 05:30am**

**Latest Shift finish: 9:00pm**

Undertaking the sale of all Chiltern Railways and National Rail products and services from all available ticket issuing systems

Delivering consistently high standards of proactive and reactive customer care both inside and outside of the booking office and remain highly visible at all times

Taking responsibility for management and operation of ticket gates

Supplementing the automated announcing system with live local announcements to ensure customers are kept informed of train running alterations

Taking responsibility for being the point of contact for issues relating to the car park in the absence of an attendant or nominated security

Collecting change from bank or arranging delivery as appropriate

Taking responsibility for the overall appearance and cleanliness of the ticket office to ensure that it is maintained to the highest standard

Carrying out cleaning duties to maintain the overall appearance of the station and car park to the highest standards

Ensuring winter weather plan treatment is carried out

Previous experience working within customer service

Strong Interpersonal Skills

Basic accounting and cash handling knowledge

Ability to deal with conflict situations

Good communicator skills

Passionate about providing good customer service

Flexible approach to working conditions and working changing working environment

Calm under pressure

Customer focused with excellent customer service skills
