About The Role***
**Overall Purpose of the Role**
To oversee and monitor all cleaning and associated duties carried out by all those that you are responsible for supervising. You will be expected to manage, train and develop your team. You will perform these duties in a professional manner and strive to exceed customer expectations, never over promising or under delivering.
**Working Hours**:
- 1st Week
Monday to Friday - 14:00 to 22:00
- 2nd Week
Monday to Friday - 14:00 to 22:00
- 3rd Week
Monday to Wednesday - 08:00 to 16:00
Saturday and Sunday - 14:00 to 22:00
**Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role**
- To ensure that all cleaning tasks are carried out in accordance with NHS cleaning standards or equivalent.
- To effectively manage and monitor the assigned unit with budgetary restraints whilst conforming to the client’s and OCS specification.
- To ensure the provision of adequate personnel cover at all times in line with the contract specification.
- Ability to work as part of a team, but also work using your own initiative.
- Ability to manage your own time and prioritise your own workload.
- Daily liaison with departmental leads on all service relates issues to ensure the best possible service delivery to the trust.
- To carry out inductions, training, refresher training and job chats.
- To be courteous to staff, visitors, service users and other team members.
- Ensure that all of your team are working safely and in line with all health and safety procedures. You must ensure that all adverse events and near misses are reported in accordance with the company procedure.
- To carry out all first line investigation procedures in line with OCS and client policy.
- To carry out all return to work interviews and first line absence meetings in line with the
- OCS policy.
- To oversee, use and take responsibility for all consumables, equipment and machinery used. Report any defects or defaults of equipment/machinery to your line manager.
- To develop a good knowledge of the unit you are working in, to enable efficient working practices.
- To understand the units working pattern so you do not conflict with the unit’s daily working pattern.
- To uphold the company core values at all times.
- Attend all training courses as required by the company.
- Comply with all company policy, procedure and training at all times.
- Comply with uniform policy at all times, to include plain, closed toe shoes.
- Comply with the company social media policy at all times.
- To maintain company, patient and client confidentiality at all times.
- To carry out any other reasonable requests by the company.
- Cross training for all staff including barrier cleans. For example porters to clean, cleaning staff to catering, catering staff to cleaning.
- Completion of Impact Training (Domestics and Catering) / Delete as applicable *Impact Security.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate trained (catering colleagues only).
- Workplace buddy - Completion of 5 minute on-line training
- Be responsible for ensuring all calls are logged with the helpdesk. For example, if you see or recognise a concern such as health and safety issues, or concerns relating to your working environment which could impact the service, e.g. you find needles. You must log these with the helpdesk or report to your line manager
- Report any accident or incident to your Line Manager immediately to ensure it is recorded and logged.
**Contract/Client Specific Requirements/Duties**
- Responsibility for ordering cleaning materials and equipment in line with agreed budgets.
- Authorising any over time worked in agreement with the Patient Experience Assistant Manager or Client
- Ensure weekly site hours are worked, in line with agreed budget and Timegate base roster.
- Manage and oversee all periodic cleaning tasks in line with the contract specification.
**Educational Level**
- NVQ Level 2 desirable but not essential.
- IT skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook required.
**Professional Qualifications**
- BICS trained and BICS Assessor desirable but not essential. **Experience**
- A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a Healthcare environment desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. **Personal Characteristics/Attributes for the role**
- The ability to be ale to communicate effectively in English.
- Ensure personal appearance and presentation including uniform is maintained at a high standard at all times.
- High standards of personal hygiene are expected and required at all times.
- Ability to manage a team.
- A resilient and robust nature is essential.
- An autonomous self starter who will take ownership for a diverse team.
