**Classroom Support are thrilled to be working with a Mainstream Primary School, in the Romford (RM6) area, that supports a significant proportion of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).**

We are looking for SEN-experienced Teaching Assistants who have supported students 1:1 and in group settings with a variety of complex support needs.

An ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have the passion for working with children with complex needs. They will also have the skills, experience, and knowledge to work with a classroom teacher to address the needs of these children in the classroom to help them succeed.

Your role will be to support the classroom teacher, working with pupils 1:1 or in small groups. If a child is struggling to grasp/understand the classroom material, it will be your role to support them and help break down the barriers to their education. You will work closely with the SENCO and HLTAs to help you understand how best to support pupils in class based on the child’s individual needs.

This role will be initially temporary - if you are successful, you will have 12-14 weeks after which the school has an option to offer a permanent contract if you have shown excellent performance.

There is a highly competitive rate of pay which is £425-450 a week, for working hours of 8.30am-3.30pm.

Working days are Monday-Friday, term-time only. To start in February 2024.
- Must have experience of working within a school in the past 2 years.
- Must have experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour, ASD or ADHD and be of a calm but firm nature.
- Must be a great communicator who is able to develop positive relationships with young children and teachers.
- Must be passionate about helping children reach their academic potential.
- Minimum requirement of holding a level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Must have or be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS (£52.20) and be willing to register it on the update service (£13 a year).
