Category Manager

Do you have an extensive background in category management? Are you looking for an opportunity that’s entirely strategic in its focus?
A manufacturing business in Derby is on the lookout for a Category Manager to join their team. You’ll be responsible for c. £30-40 million spend and have the chance to make genuine strategic contributions to your specific categories.
Your time will be split between the office and working from home, with typically 50% of the week spent in the office.
Day to day you’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing sourcing strategies
- Achieving significant cost savings through negotiation
- Tendering and supplier management
- Continuous and improvement and value engineering
- Relationship building and maintenance
You’ll need to be someone who takes initiative and is proactive in their approach. Put simply, you’ll have accountability for your categories and it’s up to you to find any cost-saving opportunities.
