**Assystem** Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for an **Engineering Assistan**t at one of our major clients in Derby on a 12 month contract basis.

The Engineering Assistant would be working within the Special Purpose Machines team. The SPM team provides bespoke repair, inspection and maintenance capabilities. SPM has the capability to provide fully integrated solutions from feasibility studies and requirements capture through design, procurement, development, trials, training and support to implementation, as necessary. SPM has developed a particular expertise in the design of portable cutting/dressing machines, compact material sampling equipment and end-effector manipulation.
We are looking for an Engineering Assistant who will work with the engineers in the team, and closely with our procurement colleagues, to assist the team in delivering our products and services against increasingly stringent time, cost and quality constraints. **Hours - 37 hours,**
**Location - Derby**

**Main Duties**:

- Facilitate and co-ordinate the engineering to procurement transition to ensure that a complete package of equipment is available to the engineer to enable commencement of equipment assembly and development trials. This will include management/production of requisitions, Coupa orders and engineering supporting documentation; then liaising and coordinating with the internal procurement teams and external procurement providers; tracking the status of all parts and keeping the engineers up-to-date to ultimately ensure timely and complete delivery.
- Assisting with the production and collation of engineering supporting documentation, including Master Record Indexes (MRIs), Certificates of Design (CoDs), Certificates of Conformity (CoCs), UKCA Technical Files, Design Review records, quality records, test procedures, support procedures, and training records.
- Organise and coordinate ancillary activities and resources to support the engineering teams in efficient delivery (e.g. review meetings, training, hardware shipments between Rolls-Royce sites and externally).
- Support the management of SPM hardware (deployable capabilities, development parts and supporting trials hardware). This will include collating and maintaining associated technical information, production of Material Masters, and supporting the hardware’s inventory control (raising into stock in SAP, hardware storage and location).
- Provide support to the Group Leaders with key SAP activities including the monitoring and reporting of hours remaining to complete activities and where instructed the commitment of resource to undertake activities.
- Provide general support across the team

PROFIL

- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- An appropriate appreciation of engineering processes, practices and terminology.
- Good knowledge of Standard IT packages: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Previous knowledge of Teamcenter, SAP and Coupa would be advantageous.
- Proven organisational skills for self and others.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business.
