**What will you be doing?**
As a Programme Buyer, you’ll be working as part of a new function to develop low volume, high value products. You’ll work with the procurement team (who’ll take care of the actual buying part) and the Design and Engineering teams (who ultimately you’ll needto hold to account) for all projects/programmes that you manage, ensuring everything is kept on track from a procurement perspective to support the various programmes the business is running.You’ll need to have project experience from a commercial environment,ideally as a project engineer or with an engineering background.
The lead times for manufacture are long (18 months or more) but deadlines need to be met so you’ll need to have experience of implementing gateways to ensure projects run to plan. **Who will you be doing it for?**
You’ll be joining a high value, low volume manufacturing business that supplies all over the world. To be successful in this role it is expected that you’ll be able to demonstrate the majority (after all no-one’s perfect) of the following skills and experience:

- Experience as a Project Manager, Project Engineer or similar with a commercial mindset - if this happens to have been gained in the Automotive, Aerospace or Rail industry this would be ideally but is by no means essential
- Strong commercial acumen
- A recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP would be highly advantageous
- Analytically minded and able to work with large datasets
- An ability to challenge stakeholders with a tenacity to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, fluency in English, written and spoken
