We have an exciting opportunity for a Works Planner and Scheduler to join our Connections Operations team in Preston or Salford.
**Our Role**
Working in close liaison with the Programme Managers and engineers, this role will implement and maintain programme management scheduling and programme management controls for the scheduling of high volume, short duration works.
These controls will include the management and control of schedules from a programme perspective, taking into consideration the business unit programme of work involving Framework partners and sub-contractors.
Health and safety, compliance with industry guidelines are always at the forefront of everything that we do, so that will also be a fundamental part of the role.
**What we're looking for**
- Expert user of Microsoft Project is essential
- Commercial astuteness and budget control management is essential
- Commercial forecasting and revenue reporting is a distinct advantage
- Risk and issue management
- To be results focused and able to deliver under their own initiative
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written is essential, including the ability to produce clear and concise project reports (utilising the full suite of MS Office software).
- Experience of managing a portfolio or complex programme schedule is essential
- Have the proven ability to work as part of a team;
- Be highly organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload;
- Have the proven ability to achieve deadlines in order to meet individual and team set targets whilst meeting the demands of different stakeholders;
- Be flexible and adaptable in your approach.
