Are you a proactive, collaborative and compassionate individual with a proven record of engaging positively with young offenders, people with complex needs or other vulnerable groups? Do you have experience of providing support, advice and advocacy, with the ability to assess clients’ needs?

If so, join St Giles as a **Caseworker**, where you will play a key role in our comprehensive communities-based team delivering a vital high-level service to vulnerable, challenging or high-risk young people in Gwent.

**About this exciting opportunity**

You will also deliver a holistic support service that will include practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying clients to appointments, benefits work, debt advice, and appearing in court. Closing cases efficiently and positively is a key aspect of this role, as is identifying a survival plan for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for ongoing support and if serious problems develop in the future.

**What we are looking for**:

- To have worked on an offender-led support project, had personal experience of the criminal justice system or have served a prison sentence
- Have previous or relevant experience in similar roles or to have been a volunteer/peer with experience in this field of work
- Experience in negotiating with partner agencies to establish links to further the aims of a project
- The ability to use and develop monitoring systems to record all aspects of the project
- An understanding of the need to use support plans
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, plus strong IT abilities
