Operations Assistant

We are seeking an Operations Assistant to join our head office team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our sales and hire operations throughout the North of England. This is a diverse role which would suit an enthusiastic individual who thrives under pressure and enjoys a wide variety of tasks and challenges.
**Responsibilities**:
Sales Co-Ordination
You will be responsible for co-ordinating our sales operations. This will include processing customers orders, invoicing the appropriate parties, chasing payments, dispatching, and organising transport. You will work alongside our Director of Sales and Depot Manager to ensure machines go through the workshops effectively, ensuring all additional parts have been purchased and contractors have been assigned.
Purchasing
You will assist in the purchasing process for our Capital Sales and Hire Fleet; you will be chasing suppliers for delivery schedules, booking in new and used machines. Transferring stock to the hire fleet and liaising with the Depot Manager to ensure plant is fleeted correctly. Ensuring all documentation is correctly stored and filed efficiently.
After Sales
You will ensure that all machinery is registered under warranty, also liaising with the Depot Managers to ensure any faulty equipment with warranty is claimed for.
Reporting
You will be producing various reports throughout the month, such as Utilisation, Hire Variance, Lost Hires, Credit Notes and Stock Lists.
Tendering and Supplier Evaluation
You will be required to complete Supplier Evaluation Forms from customers and prepare information for council tenders.
You will also work a wide variety of other projects as required.
**Skills Needed**:
- Attention to detail_ - This role requires you to process complex reports and input various data onto our management systems.
- Organisation_ - The role requires a high level of organisation due to the volume of administration.
- Time Management_ - Being able to prioritise your workload effectively is crucial within this role.
**Credentials Needed**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business management or Equivalent is essential.
- At least 1 years’ experience working within an operational or administrative role is essential.
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel is desirable but not essential.
- Working within the Construction/Hire Industry is desirable but not essential.
**Hours**:
Monday - Friday 08:00am - 17:00pm
**Salary**: From £24,000.00 per year
