Canterbury, United Kingdom Canterbury Cathedral Full time

Shepherds are the welcoming face of Canterbury Cathedral and provide a confident, professional and courteous welcome to all.

Amongst their many differing tasks, Shepherds actively help to control and give assistance to the many visiting tourists and groups, are knowledgeable about Canterbury, the Cathedral and its Precincts, and operate customer services in the Visitor Centre, Cathedral Precincts and Audio Visual theatre.

We are currently seeking customer focused individuals to fill vacancies for shifts Monday through to Sunday, 8.45am to 4pm and 9.30am to 5pm, worked and offered on an as and when required / zero hour basis.

This role is offered on a casual/zero hours basis.
- What is the difference between a contracted and casual/zero hours role?_
- _A contracted role requires the employee to work a set number of hours and/or working pattern._
- _A casual/zero hours role is one where the employer offers the employee work when it arises, and the employee chooses whether or not to accept the work offered on that occasion. The employer does not guarantee the employee any hours of work._
- Any casual/zero hour appointed employee who has worked in a steady pattern for 6 months has, by law, the right to request a contracted role with a set number of hours and/or working pattern._
