Research Associate in Experimental Particle Physics

Manchester, United Kingdom The University of Manchester Full time

The PDRA should have a PhD (or equivalent) in particle physics, programming experience (C++/python), and analysis experience from a particle physics experiment. Experience with experiment control systems, data acquisition systems and muon beam experiments would be desirable.

The Particle Physics group at Manchester is one of the largest research groups in the UK with over 100 members, composed of both world-leading experimental and theory research groups. It has an outstanding record of contributing to the design, construction, operation, and exploitation of particle physics experiments and in advancing the theoretical models underpinning these and future experiments. The group has significant roles in experiments at the LHC: ATLAS and LHCb, Fermilab: Muon g-2, Mu2e, MINOS+, SBND/MicroBoone and DUNE and the SuperNEMO neutrinoless double beta decay experiment at LSM, BESIII at BEPC and Darkside at LNGS.
