As a Weaving Operative in our dynamic weaving facility in Burnley, the role of a weaver is critical to the production process and the quality of the woven fabrics. The position requires high attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to the fast-paced nature of a weaving shed environment. You will have technical expertise and a commitment to quality. It is a challenging and rewarding profession that is integral to the success of the têxtile industry.
1. **Technical Expertise**: You will be a skilled professional who understands various types of looms, weaving techniques, and yarn types. You will be knowledgeable about different weave structures and how they influence the characteristics of the fabric.
2. **Operational Efficiency**: You will be able to operate looms efficiently, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining quality standards. You will be responsible for setting up looms, adjusting machine settings, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the weaving process.
3. **Quality Control**: You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of the woven fabric. You will inspect the fabric for defects, such as broken threads or irregularities in the weave pattern, and take corrective action as needed to maintain product quality.
4. **Adaptability and Innovation**: In a dynamic weaving mill, you need to be adaptable to changes in production schedules, machinery, and materials. You may be required to work with new yarns, designs, or technologies.
5. **Teamwork and Collaboration**: You will work as part of a friendly team that includes other production staff and machine technicians. Effective communication and collaboration are essential for ensuring smooth operations and meeting production goals.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Basic English and Maths.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or têxtile environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
**Working Conditions**:
- Forward thinking, friendly company, no 2 days are the same
- The position involves working on a shift basis (6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm) Monday-Friday with an early finish on Fridays
- Holiday entitlement - 33 days per year (including bank holidays)
- Discretionary bonus (paid annually)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
