The CNC Operator is responsible for manufacturing parts to company and customer requirements. Maintaining Safety, quality standards at all times.

**Main Duties and Responsibilties**:

- Ensure compliance of the Company’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures, Safe Working Practices and Statutory Regulations at all times.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with defined Quality Procedures, Standards and Directives.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s Environmental Control Policies and Procedures and Statutory Regulations at all times.
- Responsible for Setting and Operating CNC machines in line with operating and company guidelines.
- Understands work instructions relating job specific requirements, which will include reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
- Finishing workpieces to the required standard and performing quality control checks.
- Carry out machining requirements efficiently and be proactive to improve overall productivity.
- Loading programs into CNC machines.
- Entering initial settings (e.g. selecting parameters, positioning material and zeroing the machine).
- Loading workpieces into the machine safely.
- Monitoring machining operations.
- Intervening in the event of malfunctions, breakdowns and machining errors.
- Performing minor maintenance tasks to ensuring CNC machines function correctly.
- Maintain a working area that is safe, neat and tidy at all times.
- Any other reasonable duties.

**Knowledge, Skills and Competencies**:

- Job specific skills and competencies of setting up and operating CNC lathes, knowledge of basic programming specifically FANUC controls desirable.
- Knowledge and competent in machining large and small complex components.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to use key measuring tools
- Attention to detail and methodical approach
- Time served machinist desirable
- Strong numeracy and literacy is required, and the post-holder must be able to work with both care and accuracy.
- The job will be physical in nature, and will require the person to be fit and trained in manual handling techniques.
- Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to operate, ensuring the proper use and care of, company equipment, machinery, and measuring equipment.
- Must work co-operatively, within the production team, across the whole organisation, focusing on continuous improvement goals.
