Ceequal Assessor

**Purpose of the job**
The CEEQUAL Assessor will be responsible for ensuring that ALIGN upholds and works towards achieving its CEEQUAL v6 requirements. Duties will include overseeing the implementation of related HS2 and ALIGN sustainability strategies and contract deliverables. Provide advice and support to the production team regarding the sustainability requirements and work towards finding new innovative ways to meet sustainability goals. Responsible for managing / challenging / assuring construction for BREEAM/CEEQUAL compliance and ensuring these are fully integrated into construction design, site works and programme.

**Responsibilities**
The CEEQUAL Assessor will be responsible for:

- undertaking the BREEAM/CEEQUAL assessments and co-ordinating gathering of evidence;
- production of sustainability plans and related documentation;
- conduction site assessments and audits and producing reports on findings;
- organising and chairing meetings related to sustainability and environmental opportunities;
- liaising with the ALIGN’s core environment and project management teams;
- reviewing relevant documents, specifications, drawings for evidence relating to the BREEAM and CEEQUAL assessments;
- liaison with, relevant HS2 staff, BRE and verifier
- complying with the CEEQUAL Code of Conduct
- conducting training to production teams and sub-contractors;
- undertaking other reasonable reporting/sustainability duties appropriate to the role.

**Skills & Experience**
A degree qualification in Environmental Management (or equivalent) and experience which demonstrates applied knowledge of environmental/sustainability procedures and compliance in the construction environment.

Qualifications and experience should include:

- CEEQUAL v6 Assessor/BREEAM experience
- Knowledge of the civil engineering design, construction and impacts on 3rd Parties;
- Broad experience of multiple sustainability disciplines;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- High standard of computer literacy;
- Confidence and experience to challenge designs/methodology prepared by others;
- Broad knowledge of the ISO14001 standard;
- Fully aware of regulatory, legislative and company requirements;
- Membership of IEMA, CIEEM, IES or equivalent environmental organisation; and
- CSCS Card holder.
