General help to upkeep the grounds and areas of the school. A varied role with a high level of flexibility and willingness is essential. Experience of any specific trade is an advantage but not essential. A proactive approach and an independent working ethos is essential. Previous experience of caretaking/maintenance within a school is of benefit but not essential.

**Pownall Hall School**

Pownall Hall is a ‘magical’ prep school, based within simply beautiful 8-acre leafy grounds in Wilmslow, providing ‘excellent in all areas’ provision for 6 months to 11 years old.

At Pownall Hall we are a family, a family of pupils, staff, parents, governors and friends, all working together to ensure an excellent academic outcome in a caring, safe environment. Our curriculum is creative, broad, active and diverse, wrapped in a caring ethos and all of this is underpinned by a no-compromise approach to the safeguarding of our children, ensuring a happy and safe place for our child to flourish.

We are very fortunate to enjoy over 8 acres of beautiful grounds, housing an outdoor classroom, a wildlife pond and forest school provision within our woodland areas; all of which provide excellent learning opportunities for all ages, with free flow inside/outside learning.

**Maintenance Helper**
- 40 hrs per week, with a half hour unpaid lunch break
- 10.00am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday

**Duties**:

- Attend and comply with the schools Safeguarding Training, policies and practices
- Complete and adhere to all Health & Safety policies and practices
- Complete all relevant training modules as requested
- Complete checks on the schools fire prevention, detection and evacuation equipment
- Management of onsite traffic movement and deliveries
- Ensure that the external areas of the school are clean and safe to use, including removing litter and leaves from school grounds.
- Ensure the external areas of the school are adequately maintained, and are tidy and presentable at all times.
- General maintenance, including painting and decorating; repairs to furniture, fixtures and fittings, including plumbing; installation of minor fittings, bulb replacement etc.
- Use the ride on lawn mower
- General garden maintenance
- Identify and order stock items and parts required for repairs
- Regular checks and maintenance of drains and gullies
- Liaison and management of onsite contractors
- Moving furniture and equipment to set up for school events and functions
- To be proactive in approach to ensure that the school operates in a safe and efficient manner.
- Excellent rapport with staff, colleagues and children
- Basic IT skills
