We're looking for an individual who is keen to enter the bakery sector and learn a variety of skills and bakes.

We are a local, family-run company who have been in business for 42 years and have a true passion for all things bakery. We are proud of the goods we produce.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn about dough development, morning goods production & a variety of cake making and finishing, whilst also develop the skills to keep a well-maintained working environment.
- Due to the location of the bakery and the working hours, having your own transport is highly recommended to be able to reach the bakery premises. _

**Hours**: 41 hours per week. **01:00am-08:00am** Monday-Friday. **21:00pm-03:00am** Friday night into Saturday morning.

**Salary**: £14,924 per annum

- **What will the apprentice be doing?**_

You will be responsible for:

- the production of breads
- the finishing of cakes and buns
- the creation of puff pastry goods
- **Training Provider: Plumpton College**_

Plumpton College is a dedicated training provider in the heart of the South Downs. With expertise in the Land, Food and Environment sectors, Plumpton provides a wealth of knowledge to its apprentices.

Baking apprentices will be able to utilise our state of the art baking equipment in the new 'Agri-food' building, which features master-chef style ovens.
- **Qualifications Awarded**:_
- Apprenticeship Certificate (L2 Bakery)
- Level 2 Certificate in Baking Industry Skills
- Level 1 maths and English (if applicable)

Apprentices will learn:

- Measuring ingredient quantities
- Making bakery products
- How to safely work machinery, such as power mixers, industrial ovens and production lines
- Managing supplies
- Keeping production areas clean
- How to come up with ideas for new products
