Reed Engineering are delighted to be representing a highly successful housing developer based in Teesside to appoint a Technical Inspector.

Duties include undertaking a variety of technical inspections including but not limited to inspecting, diagnosing and addressing damp issues, supporting the Aids and Adaptations process and our Repairs & Maintenance team with various inspection requirementsas the service requires.

Further Key Duties:

- Carry out a range of inspections including but not limited to diagnosing dampness, mould and condensation issues, proposing rectification measures, and advising on Adaptation works such as wet rooms, extensions, garage conversions, ramps and lifts etc.
- Ensure requests for technical inspections are dealt with effectively and projects are identified appropriately, delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards, providing efficient and effective technical expertise, contract management, planningand administrative support as required.
- Deal with requests for aids and adaptations, working alongside a range of key stakeholders, including residents, occupational therapists, local authorities and colleagues to consider options, acting as a decision maker in terms of whether requests are acceptedand the appropriate course of action to take.
- Produce detailed and technical designs and specifications where required.
- Liaise with the appropriate local authorities to ensure full compliance with planning and building regulations.
- Manage project delivery, including site visits, acting as a project surveyor and technical expert to ensure quality and compliance standards and resident expectations are met.
- Maintain accurate asset management records, using appropriate systems and databases, ensuring the integrity and quality of data to enable regular analysis.
- Manage technical enquiries effectively, providing clear, supportive and accurate advice.

Qualifications:

- Degree or HNC/HND in Building Surveying or relevant experience.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

- Demonstrate sound knowledge of Planning & Building Regulations requirements/procedures, disabled access, CDM, and Health & Safety Legislation.
- Experience in the delivery of aids and adaptations works/disability facilities grant works.
- Thorough understanding of project management methodologies.
- Previous involvement in stakeholder management with the ability to persuade and influence others and make effective decisions.
- Demonstrates a working style that complements multi-disciplinary team working with strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Good understanding of value-for-money principles.
- Able to prioritise to achieve realistic targets, costs and time deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and ability to travel across the region as required.
