Thistle Lodge is a facility which supports people with autism and learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge. We will have 7 Service Users in a purpose-built facility.

**Responsibilities of the Maintenance Person**:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Carry out skilled DIY & general maintenance work involved in all aspects of onsite building maintenance, both internal and external
- General joinery such as fitting door frames, skirting boards, new locks, window frames, boxing in, assembling furniture/shelving, easing and adjusting windows, replacing handles and similar hardware
- General plumbing including washers, taps, unblocking toilets/sinks, installing new sinks, toilets, pipework
- Installation inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building fixtures and fittings
- Identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
- Flooring work, such as carpet tiles
- General painting & decorating
- Basic electrical maintenance (socket / light fitting)
- Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with work
- This will also include regular checks and assessments of both private and communal areas, liaising with Line Manager and other team members, performing jobs as and when they are required
- Ensure that all tradesman visiting the Home are suitably inducted
- Ensure that you obtain all materials required, even if this involves you collecting from suppliers
- Ensure that all relevant documentation is completed regarding check lists

**Purpose of the role**

At all times ensure that health and safety measures for yourself and all others at the facility are not compromised at any time.
