We are looking for an experienced **Driver Trainer** to join our Operations Team to provide assistance to our HGV drivers across the 3 sites.
The **Driver Trainer** will report to the Transport Manager and provide comprehensive training to new and existing HGV drivers on company policies, vehicle operation, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
The person will be responsible for ensuring that all drivers are well-informed about safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture within the team.
The **Driver Trainer** will also instruct drivers in effective and fuel-efficient driving techniques to reduce environmental impact and improve cost-effectiveness, maintain accurate records of driver training, certifications, and performance evaluations.
It will also be their responsibility to stay updated on changes in HGV regulations, industry best practices, and technological advancements, incorporating these changes into training programs.
**Please note that the role is based at Wardle but there will be national travel (Wixland and Longtown) associated with this post.**
**Skills we are looking for**:
- Valid UK C+E driving licence
- At least 3 years’ experience as an HGV driver
- Proven training and/or mentoring experience
- Strong knowledge of HGV regulations and safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification as a qualified driver trainer (desirable but not essential full training provided)
- Polite, approachable and professional manner
