Visitor Experience Coordinator, Burford

Blue Cross are one of the UK’s leading animal welfare organisations for animals. We support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes.

What is the role?
We have a wonderful opportunity for an individual to come and join us on our journey as we expand the scope of services delivered at our cross-directorate site in Burford. We are looking for a friendly and welcoming individual to be the first point of contact for all visitors to our welcome area, providing support, guidance and direction for any enquiries from visitors. You will have the skills to communicate effectively with a diverse range of clientele and stakeholders and we want you to ensure guests to the site feel supported from their first interaction to the last in their Blue Cross experience. You will be working as part of a team, supporting a harmonious positive “One Blue Cross” culture across the charity and will be willing to help everyone you encounter.

A keen eye for detail is essential as you will be taking responsibility for a variety of administrative tasks including coordinating feedback on our service in order to ensure continuous improvement. In addition, you’ll be making sure our front of house is always looking presentable and professional.

The role would suit an individual with great customer service skills who wants to give visitors an immersive experience whilst demonstrating our Blue Cross values.

We have two vacancies, and are looking to cover the following shift patterns:
Pattern 1: Sunday - 9am-5pm, half days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Pattern 2: Half day Thursday, Friday - 9am-5pm, Saturday - 9am-5pm

What is required?
We are looking for people with the following:

- Delivering outstanding customer service as a priority
- Employment or volunteering in a highly reactive visitor facing working environment
- Experience of dealing with difficult situations that are emotionally charged
- Supporting a multifunctional organisation with competing needs
- Employment or volunteering in a role involving administration of people data and working within GDPR
- Providing support and customer care to a wide variety of audiences
- Demonstrable experience of remaining calm under pressure when dealing with members of the public

It would also be great if you had:

- Experience of online booking systems
- Customer service/hospitality vocational training or qualification
- Experience in public speaking, curator, or host
- Safeguarding practices
- Health and safety training
- Working with and training volunteers
- Cash handling and cashing up daily takings

**Salary**: £18,018 to £21,000 pro rata per annum
Grade: 5.2
