**Salary**:£26,000 - £28,000

**Annual leave**:25 days plus 9 public holidays _(including office closure for two weeks over Christmas and New Year)_

FARE is looking to employ a Family Employability Support Worker to work on the Supporting Families: Whole Family Approach to Employability Project. The post holder will work with a range of partners and will be responsible for the development and delivery of employability and skills interventions in both a community and school setting. They will provide holistic support that will minimise barriers and provide access to training that leads to increased skills development and progression along the employability pipeline.

This project is being run in partnership with Glasgow City Council and Clyde Gateway and is an integral part of the Supporting Families (SF) in Clyde Gateway: Whole Family Approach to Employability which is designed to address rising levels of child poverty and inequality in Clyde Gateway area.

The project will focus on delivery to parents and caregivers with children attending the full learning community of the two lead secondary schools of St Mungo’s Academy and Eastbank Academy. The post holder will work alongside key stakeholders and curriculum leads/service provision (including but not limited to) Headteacher/Deputy Head/ Financial Inclusion Service Officer/Community Partners/PESF Colleagues/Glasgow Life/JBG/DWP) to align and connect with services that enhance employment and skills opportunities to support parents/carers.

The post holder will have a sound knowledge of the issues faced by children, young people, adults, and families in the area. The post holder will have experience in developing interventions to tackle poverty and its symptoms through educational and social activities including volunteering and mentoring opportunities. Ultimately, closing the gap in measures such as worklessness, educational attainment and skills shortages. An awareness of key policies at a local and national level would be beneficial.

The post holder will have experience in planning and delivering needs-led programmes by working alongside local people and other organisations through strategic working to meet the needs of the families. The post holder will have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide holistic support to full family unit, determining any barriers to employment and skills development, aligning with partner services/key stakeholders as appropriate to link opportunity and need
- Undertake 1-1 personal needs assessment interviews and reviews.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the employment sector for the full family unit and pre-employment training provisions that may be needed.
- Liaise with employers to identify job opportunities and meet recruitment targets. Linking in with lead employability partners e.g., Jobs & Business Glasgow, Jobcentre plus and Skills Development Scotland.
- Stay updated on key regional and local policies (e.g., City Deal, Covid recovery and renewal, Clyde Mission, Community Wealth Building) that can provide opportunities to support skills development and the employability agenda.
- Work with key members of staff within the school, Further Education establishments and community partners to ensure alignment and connections made to support the full family unit
- Design and deliver training in group settings using a range of learning materials accommodating a range of learning styles.
- Provide post-employment support to achieve sustained employment outcomes including tracking, and record keeping.
- Attend meetings and represent Supporting Families: A Whole Family Approach to Employability at external events if required.
- Monitor and evaluate all training programmes on the preferred client managing system providing progress reports on interventions completed.
- Maintain client management database inline with recording guidelines.
- Support families to access Training and Support Funding to increase skills for work.
- Partnership working with all relevant stakeholders.
- Responsibility for health and safety in all aspects of work-related practices.

**Person Specification**

You will need:

- Educated to minimum SCQF level 7 in relevant field or have minimum 4 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including databases
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both orally and written
- Full driving licence (maximum 6 points)
