- **About the role**

You’re an experienced Shift Trader, so you should know what’s involved, but just to be sure
- Day to day you’ll be dispatching and optimising the generation units and managing risk in short term power markets, as well as adding value through ancillary services and Balancing Mechanism trading.
- Performing real time market analysis, you’ll be trusted to make informed trading decisions across our diverse portfolio of assets, as well as supporting the wider trading team. You’ll also work closely with colleagues in production, generation and optimisation so we can manage within day risks associated with generating unit availability and maximise the value of what we produce.
- You’ll be based out of Drax Power Station in Yorkshire - but don’t think that means you’ll be in portacabin near a cooling tower. We’ve got a newly refurbished office building full of all the mod cons: sitting/standing desks; breakout areas; fully stocked kitchens; collaborative working spaces; private work pods. The list goes on
- The team work onsite when they’re trading but can work from home on non-trading days to focus on things like project work.

- **What we need**

Not a big wish list we’re simply looking for someone with trading knowledge and an understanding of energy markets. It doesn’t matter if you’re right at the start of your career or well into it, we’d love to hear from you.
- It goes without saying that you’ll be highly numerate, ultra-communicative, a great problem solver, and comfortable with technology.
