Newquay Foodbank are looking for Sessions Volunteers at our Tuesday sessions at St Columb Minor.

**Why we want you**:
Foodbanks provide essential community services to people in crisis.

Following guidance from the Session Manager you will make sure that clients get the support they need both by the receipt of a Foodbank parcel and the signposting on to further support as required.

Supporting a welcoming and non-judgemental environment for both volunteers and clients alike and treating all with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Your support will make a real impact within the community, ensuring families and individuals who are facing the very real issue of food poverty are not alone and receive the help they need.

**What will you be doing?**
- Creating a welcoming, caring and friendly atmosphere for volunteers and clients alike.
- Regularly report to the Session Lead on the progress of the session.
- Sorting and weighing stock as it enters the site.
- Packing parcels as directed by the session lead.
- Supporting clients who attend foodbank sessions.
- Signposting clients onto further support where required.

- A commitment to the organisation and willingness to devote the necessary time and effort.
- An ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Organised and self-motivated.
- A willingness and confidence to speak your mind.
- An ability to think creatively.
- Good communication skills.
- An eye for accuracy and detail.
- Good IT Skills.

**PLEASE NOTE** - This is a voluntary position, there is no pay for this role.
