We offer a daily newsletter containing the latest, must-read stories on the Bermuda re/insurance industry. We also have a website, publications and special reports produced throughout the year.

**What you’ll be doing**
You will report to the Group Managing Editor of Newton Media. As editor you will have day-to-day responsibility for writing and managing the editorial content of the publications within your charge. This includes responsibility for managing content and coordinating activities across a wide range of platforms including daily, weekly and monthly outlets, conference newsletters and events around the world. You will be required to travel in this role.
You will work as part of a wider editorial team covering other titles including global title Intelligent Insurer, reporting directly to the Group Managing Editor. You will need to be able to prioritise your workload and meet the demands of various team members and deadlines.
The role would suit a journalist who has several years’ experience already under their belt writing about business or finance and who is looking to progress their career. A broad understanding of business and finance is important, but an in-depth knowledge of this specific industry is not.
**Responsibilities will include**
- Responsible for all editorial content from concept through to publication (in collaboration with the Group Managing Editor and Publisher)
- Developing relationships with the editorial board
- Establishing and growing our industry awards programs
- Interviewing experts in the industry by phone, video (live) and in person
- Writing a mixture of news and features
- Copy chasing
- Dealing with commercial partners
- Sending out submission guidelines
- Liaising with contributors
- Carrying out industry research
- SEO and meta data for articles and news stories

**Requirements**:
**What you will need**
**Essential skills**
- 3 years+ experience working in B2B journalism as an editor or senior reporter
- Able to manage a demanding and diverse workload in a fast-paced environment
- Good news sense and headline writing ability
- Excellent organisational abilities
- The ability to process vast quantities of information but always remain accurate
- The drive to develop products by suggesting new and innovative platforms and ideas
- The ability to adjust to and meet tight deadlines
- The ability to diplomatically deal with external contacts, including senior executives
- Demonstrate a team working ethos
- A willingness to learn
- The ability to manage several tasks concurrently
- Be prepared to ‘go the extra mile’
- The ability to be diligent and accurate at all times
- Have excellent communication skills, telephone manner and excellent written English
- The willingness to travel overseas
- Be comfortable and assertive moderating roundtable events
- Be at ease conducting video interviews
- Be personable, and actively develop stronger relationships with the current editorial board and future additions to it

**Desired skills**
- An in-depth knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance markets and wider risk transfer landscape
- Experience at another B2B media company covering similar topics
- Previous experience developing well-respected industry awards

**Experience**
- Carrying out interviews with senior executives
- Confident on the telephone and able to get through gatekeepers
- Managing news on a daily basis
- Feature writing to a high standard

**Qualifications**
- Fluent English speaker
- Proficient at using different IT systems including Microsoft Office, Google G-Suite, website CMS’s (WordPress or similar) and able to pick up technology easily

**Knowledge**
- A knowledge of the editorial process: from concept to delivery to design and production.
- An understanding of the global economic landscape/key trends and be interested in news
- Need to have a degree of financial acumen
