**Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Level 3 TA)**

**Location: M14 Manchester**

Pay Rates: £85-£90 per day

**Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday**

Core Teachers are working with a partner Primary school in the Fallowfield area Manchester (M14 Postcode) area to find them a Level 3 TA who has valuable experience working with in a primary school or childcare setting.

Level 3 qualification or equivalent is essential to this role.

They are given the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential, in the classroom and beyond. Together, parents, pupils and staff, they aim to give each child the skills and knowledge to create a better understanding of the world they face now, and in the future.

This role is with a view to start in as soon as possible and would be for the rest of the academic year, there is the opportunity for this to become a permanent post.

You will be based in a year 6 classroom to work with a thriving, bright and enthusiastic set of pupils. This is a general teaching assistant post, and you will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive, fun and exciting learning environment.
- Knowledge of the primary school national curriculum
- Supporting children in a school setting or similar environment
- Have the ability to react fast to ever changing situations
- A passion for working with young children in a school environment and supporting the teaching and learning
- A knowledge of Phonics and leading and delivering group phonics sessions
- Patience and resilience
- Compassion and understanding towards the children
- Confidence to support learners who may have additional needs
- The ability to adapt the learning accordingly to meet the needs of all pupils in your care
- Demonstrate high levels of enthusiasm and able to motivate and inspire the children to be actively engaged in the activities
- Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of children and young people at the school
- Setting high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships, acting to pre-empt and deal with inappropriate behaviour in the context of the behaviour policy of the school
- Be able to create a stimulating and positive learning environment
- Delivering Guided reading group sessions and 1:1 session
- What does guided reading look like?

1. Gather information about the readers to identify emphases.

2. Select and analyse texts to use

3. Introduce the text

4. Observe children as they read the text individually (support if needed)

5. Invite children to discuss the meaning of the text

6. Make one or two teaching points

Some of the main duties of the role will include but are not limited to:

- To work with groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of programmes of work and implementation of support plans
- Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special needs ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Give regular feedback on children’s development to the class teacher and file records
- Attend to children’s personal needs, including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene, and minor first aid and welfare matters
- Establish good relationships with pupils, taking on role model by presenting a positive personal image and responding appropriately to individual needs
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- To provide a happy, stimulating, safe, and secure environment where all children are encouraged to meet their potential and where their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs are met
- To liaise with parents to ensure that they are happy with the standard of care and have sufficient knowledge of their child’s progress
