**What we do**

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity that trains highly skilled assistance dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds, such as smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, alarm clocks, oven timers and doorbells.

Our dogs also provide lots of love, companionship, and emotional support, which is just as important as many deaf people can experience feelings of loneliness and isolation. This mixture of practical and emotional support can completely transform deaf people’s lives.

The charity also provides a range of other personalised services to help people with any level of hearing loss, including a dedicated helpdesk and support groups.

**What you will be doing**

The Social Media Officer is an important role in Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, supporting the earned and owned voice for the charity across social channels and working to increase brand exposure and engagement for the charity.

Reporting to the Social Media Manager and working alongside our team of videographers and wider content team, your key responsibilities will include:

- Work with the Social Media Manager to support the design and implementation of a social media strategy to align with charity business goals.
- Support the setting of and working to specific objectives and report on return on investment.
- Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. photos, videos, e-newsletters, blog posts)
- Collaborate with other teams (marketing, fundraising, dog operations and services) to ensure their objectives are being met and that you keep abreast of their activities.
- Communicate with followers, respond to queries, flagging any specific trends in content.
- Support the Social Media Manager by contributing to the design of social media accounts.
- Support the Social Media Manager to create and develop new features to develop brand awareness and engagement in line with organisational objectives and audience. example. training products, competitions.
- Work with the team to develop the Charity’s social media policy, equipping colleagues across the Charity to become effective ambassadors for our work and to support you in delivering against your objectives.
- Be part of the rota for short social media checks at weekends.
- Undertake other activities as required, some of which may require occasional work during unsociable hours.

**Salary**: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
