The University of Sussex is recruiting a motivated administrator to fulfil the role of Managing Editor for the journal Sociology of Health & Illness (SHI). The journal is a peer-reviewed academic journal which covers the sociological aspects of health, illness, medicine, and health care. It is published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the Foundation for the Sociology of Health and Illness. The Editorial Team is currently led by Professor Karen Lowton (University of Sussex) and Professor Flis Henwood (University of Brighton) as joint Editors in Chief.
The role combines the skills of an editor with those of an operations manager. Responsibilities include coordinating editorial publications and meetings, and overseeing proof-reading and editing.
