**About the store**

The store first opened its doors in 2004 and sits in a prominent position on the main high street, opposite the town hall which runs a well-known weekly market.

Specsavers in Wetherby pride themselves in ensuring that every one of their customers receives an excellent patient experience. The high levels of service and patient care have led to numerous positive customer reviews and an excellent local reputation.

The store relocated to a larger premises in February 2020 and now boasts 5 test rooms - all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT. They offer enhanced clinical services including MECS/CUES, OHTMS and Glaucoma referral refinement. One of the test rooms is a dual purpose room as the store serves as a spoke to Harrogate’s hub.

A team of 23 dedicated and experienced colleagues call this store home including lab and call centre staff. The existing DO/Retail Partner has been with the store since it first opened and is really passionate about the clinical development of the team, and as the new Optometry Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

**Store location**

The store is located in the heart of Wetherby, a small and affluent town around 13 miles north of Leeds. Famous for its weekly market that has been going for over 800 years and beautiful Wetherby Bridge, a Grade 2 listed structure which spans the river Wharfe running through the heart of the town. There’s something here for everyone from independent shops, pubs and restaurants to museums and parks for families to enjoy. There are excellent transport links; a bus station is within walking distance from the store and the A1 motorway is nearby.

**Requirements of the role**

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, you’ll need to share the store’s ethos. They’re looking for someone who wants to grow and develop the team, offer exceptional customer care and improve patient outcomes. You’ll be a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach, and someone who is keen to get involved and build a rapport with their team. In summary, you’ll be a highly skilled Optometry professional willing and able to help drive the practice forward.
