**How you'll make a difference**:

- As Senior Support Worker you will be supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes by giving them a voice choice, opinion, feelings and emotions. You will make a difference by building relationships with young people and their families, being that listening ear and engaging them in a way that they feel supported.**What will you be doing?**
- On a daily basis you will contribute to the plan of young person is being supported at Child In Need or Child Protection level or, you will assess the family using an Early Help Assessment & Plan.
- You will engage young people and families in direct sessions that you will plan. These will be creative, fun, educational and with the aim of building positive family and peer relationships so they can thrive in their adolescent years and in their transition to adulthood. They can be designed to help young people with various topics such as low mood, school exclusion, issues around exploitation, helping to rebuild relationships at home, helping young people socially or to recognise social pressures and build resilient factors to lessen the risks.
- In this role you will help build a team around families so support mechanisms can be constructed around the young person and available after you step back.
- It will be your responsibility for undertaking return home interviews to young people who have gone missing and have since returned so you can provide support, advice and guidance to them and their families.
- As a senior, it is expected that you will provide support and mentoring to support workers, including those who are new to the team and those who are need of some support in a specific area of practice.

**What we need from you**:

- You will be professionally qualified, at NVQ4 or equivalent, or working towards a relevant professional qualification related to the provision of services to children and young people.
- It is essential you have experience of working in a similar setting supporting young people.
- You can demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, processes, and procedures.
