**£75000 + bonus + hybrid working**
A high-growth business based in Manchester is recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller, ideally ACA / ACCA, to join a high-growth business and work alongside the CFO to manage the finance team and implimernt new financial controls.
This position will see you take ownership of the finance function & raise the profile of finance within the business. The role will not only perform the financial and banking related roles, but also equip the business with financial insights, monitor performancevs budget and play a key role in driving costs down and managing growth.
You will assist with budgeting and FP&A projects, gaining exposure to a wide range of stakeholders. You will also play a key role in developing KPIs and reporting on them, so company staff are able to see the results of their high performance.
As you understand the business, you will identify areas for improvement from accounting perspective, such as automation/efficiency/cost savings to operations and the commercial teams and implement agreed actions.
**As Financial Controller your role will involve**:
- Assist the highly experienced CFO in modelling, delivering financial insights and ad-hoc projects
- Overall management of the transactional and management accounts direct report.
- Management of daily and annual banking process.
- Overseeing the Management accounts production.
- Produce monthly management accounts showing performance against budget and variance.
- Build the annual budget by pulling together departmental budgets - i.e. sales/marketing/ Ops/HR etc.
- Manage and deliver the annual budget process with senior management to capture the strategic objectives.
- Regular communication with budget holders and to hold them accountable
- Production and development of the monthly finance board pack.
- Produce MIS showing account and product level profitability.
- Partner throughout the organisation to put finance at the heart of the business.
- Providing coaching and training to management teams on cost control activity.
- Maintaining cashflow and reporting.
- R&D returns preparation and submission
- Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders as required including auditors and accountants
- Be a qualified accountant ACA, ACCA
- Have trained in practice and have gained some experience in industry.
- Have experience of working within an SME environment
- Have the ability to use financial information to formulate and propose new business strategies.
- Have both technical and commercial accounting skills
- Have experience of managing a team
- Have strong business partnering and communications skills
- Have experience of procurement or negotiating better contract deals
- Knowledge and experience of implementing and rolling out new compliance across a wider business
