We are looking for a highly motivated Housekeeper with a positive "can-do" attitude to join our amazing team in theatres at Chorley and help us maintain our high standards and patient care.

Chorley Theatres is a very busy and demanding unit. We assess and treat patients with both acute and chronic surgical conditions. We work closely as a team and deal with the day to day pressures with positivity and high levels of energy.

The position would suit a motivated and organised individual with good communication skills, who would enjoy the challenge of a demanding, but rewarding work environment. You will need to be an excellent team player with a committed and professional approach to the delivery of care. You will play a key role in maintaining a clean and safe environment; they will provide support with the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, including maintenance of the clinical environment and staff changing and rest areas.

This role is essentially housekeeping, to support the productive operation of the theatre environment by undertaking a range of activities which contribute to the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, including maintenance of the clinical environment and staff changing and rest areas.

You will be responsible for ensuring the theatre environment is cleaned in accordance with Trust policies and meeting departmental and infection control standards.

You may be asked to participate in departmental environmental audits and ensure that the service requirements for maintaining a clean environment are met and cleaning schedules completed.

You would work under direct supervision of the Theatre Department Clinical Managers.

Assist with cleaning by damp dusting equipment, trolley’s, and maintaining the tidiness of all theatre areas across the department (including removing clutter, tidying notice boards, signs in place etc.).

Assist with the cleaning of equipment and reporting of faulty specialised equipment.

Report estate maintenance and repairs in line with Trust policy. Check the linen trolley are kept tidy and that there is an adequate supply for the unit’s needs. Dispose of dirty linen and clinical/non-clinical waste in accordance with the Trust policy.
