Safety and Assurance Consultant

Our client is an established SME Consultancy providing expert services in Safety Engineering, Cyber Security, Safety Management, and Risk Management.
Their Air Traffic Management (ATM) Business Unit is looking to recruit a bright, dynamic, and energetic Safety and Assurance Consultant to contribute to a variety of major projects in the civil and defence domains.
- You would have the ability to grow your safety experience, grow a practical knowledge of all safety tools, techniques and methodologies, and gain experience of dealing with multi-disciplinary teams, occasionally in an international environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead tasks and manage smaller projects while undertaking safety engineering activities as defined by Project Safety Plans and in compliance with the principles identified in Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Identify and create evidence to support system assurance, using safety assessment techniques to support the traceability of system safety requirements to implementation and operation.
- Participate in / run hazard identification and risk assessment workshops with customers.
- Carry out Hazard Analysis to define safety requirements and detailed technical system analysis to demonstrate that safety requirements can be met.
- Develop safety arguments and safety cases to support assurance and certification activities, including the identification of appropriate evidence to demonstrate that the arguments are reasonable, well-constructed and justified.
- Support clients with specification, development or delivery of their safety case programs.
- Liaise with system developers, certification bodies, Operators, Operational Engineering, Systems Engineering and Facilities Management as necessary, regarding safety.
- Carry out reviews of third-party safety analysis (FMECA, FTA, ETA etc.).
- Operate as part of a team and as an individual with good communication and interpersonal skills, able to estimate and then effectively work to time and budget.
- Assist in proposal and client development and resource estimation for relevant projects and completion of tasks, within allocated timescales/hours.
- University educated with a degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or other related discipline
- Safety domain experience preferably in Air Traffic Management, but they will consider Defence & Aerospace, Nuclear, Oil & Gas or Rail experience
- Knowledge or interest in the Air Traffic Management, Aviation and/or Defence domains would be ideal.
- Experience of working directly with clients and an ability to present information and findings in a clearly written and structured report, and convincing presentation format.
- Attention to detail with an ability to work in a methodical manner and deal with complex situations.
- A desire to strive for the highest quality standards with focus on delivery and exceeding expectations.
- Able to communicate across all levels of the company. Articulate with an ability to negotiate, persuade and listen.
- High level of drive and enthusiasm; flexible and positive attitude; adaptable and resilient.
- A team player willing to support the next stage of development with the client in a constructive, positive way.
- It is essential that you_-- Are willing to travel to client sites, as and when required (driving licence required)
- Are willing to be Security Cleared.
**Location -**Corsham or one of their satellite offices, with remote/hybrid/flexible working options.
**PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of work undertaken by our client, incumbents of these positions are required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK Security Vetting to SC Level.
