**ABOUT YOU**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Analyst within the Nutritional Food Testing Laboratory, part of the UK Food business. This is a new role and you will be responsible for developing methods and running samples on a top spec Perkin Elmer LCMS-MS and training other analysts in the technology.

The role will be based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a permanent, full time role.

**Required skills and experience**:

- You need to have 12 months + experience in using and maintaining LCMS-MS systems and preferably demonstrate your ability to develop methods.
- You need to have a passion for being a team player
- You need to be confident in your IT and literacy skills, especially Excel and the use of statistical analysis.
- You need to be a good communicator orally and written and enjoy sharing your passion for food analysis with your peers and our clients.
- You should be able to critique and improve activities through continuous improvement and innovation.
- You should be of a highly energised mind-set with willingness and desire to learn and adapt individually.

**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**

**Key activities**:

- Working in conjunction with Perkin Elmer to develop appropriate commercial methods.
- Running routine customer samples.
- Performing daily and routine maintenance on the system.
- Performing daily, weekly and quarterly quality checks.
- Training of analysts on the instrument and technology.
- Working within budget and identifying and implementing best practice.
