**PLEASE NOTE - THIS JOB IS ONLY FOR OUR HOLIDAY PROVISION. 11 WEEKS OF THE YEAR, EXCLUDING CHRISTMAS.**

**7:45am - 5pm EVERY DAY WE'RE OPEN OVER THE HOLIDAYS - 43.75 HOURS PER WEEK.**

**Main Duties**:
1. To provide a safe, stimulating group environment that draws on good practice and is in line with the requirements of the Welsh Government for child care.

2. Support the planning of the sessions in liaison with the supervisor.

3. Ensure quality care within the group and maintain standards.

4. Provide and maintain equality of opportunity for all children and their families.

5. Carry out duties of session; such as snack preparation, setting up resources and clearing away at end of session.

6. Ensure a positive happy atmosphere at sessions.

7. Take time to listen and respond to children and encourage them to develop, positive role modelling at all times.

8. Ensure the children are supervised at all times within ratios of 1:8 in line with CIW and adhere to the Child Protection Policy of the relevant organisation.

9. Attend team meetings with Coordinator and staff every 2 weeks.

**Other Duties will include**:
1. Provide a warm welcome to the children and parents at each session.

3. Ensure Accident & Incident book is filled in if accident occurs.

4. Support Supervisor within frequent fire drills.

5. Attend training as appropriate.

6. Maintain exemplary standard of food hygiene, including daily records in the Safer Food, Better Business pack.

**Previous Experience**:
Knowledge of development of children.

Experience and knowledge of the requirements of working in a childcare setting.

**Qualifications**:
Level 2 childcare and Playwork required.

First Aid Certificate would be preferred but can be arranged on appointment.

Food hygiene certificate would be preferred but can be arranged on appointment.

Safeguarding Children Level 1 would be preferred but can be arranged on appointment.

**Skills**:
Ability to communicate and maintain friendly relationships with children, parents, staff, and partners.

Ability to work on own initiative and within the team.

Be prepared to seek guidance where necessary.

Support the team and maintain standards compliance with CIW.

Attend relevant training.

**Job Type**: Contract

**Salary**: £10.58 per hour
