We would love to welcome you to our Belfast Office location for the days you are in the office. You’ll report into the Michelle Harbinson, Credit Manager on a day-to-day basis, supporting a wider team.

**What would your day to day look like?**
- _**Analyse financial information**:_ Assess the financial statements, tax returns, bank statements, and other financial documents provided by customers to evaluate their ability to repay.
- _**Assess creditworthiness**_**: Review credit reports, credit scores, and payment histories to determine the customers creditworthiness and likelihood of default.
- _**Conduct risk analysis**:_ Evaluate the risk associated with extending credit to customers by considering factors such as income stability, debt-to-income ratio, collateral, and industry trends.
- _**Determine loan terms**:_ Based on the customers creditworthiness and risk assessment, determine the appropriate credit amount, repayment terms, and other terms and conditions.
- _**Ensure compliance**:_ Ensure that all credit decisions and processes comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and underwriting guidelines.
- _**Collaborate with other departments**:_ Work closely with credit officers, sales teams, and other departments to gather additional information, clarify details, and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- _**Provide recommendations**:_ Present findings and recommendations to management or credit committees for final credit approval or rejection.
- _**Maintain documentation**_: Keep accurate records of all credit decisions, credit files, and related documentation in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- _**Stay updated on industry trends**:_ Continuously monitor market conditions, economic trends, and changes in lending regulations to ensure underwriting practices remain current and effective.

**Departmental and Business integration**
- Actively engage in relevant and appropriate opportunities for cross-department working to build relationships & share knowledge.
- Participate in meetings and projects with wider credit team to continually improve department performance.
- Use exposure to different areas of credit and businesses / products to share good ideas and approaches across the team and improve the processes and systems as a result.

**Individual Management**
- Manage individual performance to achieve credit underwriting standards.
- Manage credit underwriting to ensure Dept. SLAs are maintained.
- Keep accurate and complete records of all cases underwritten within systems.
- Escalation of accounts and issues as required.
- Manage the Account Managers expectations to minimize escalated calls.
- Assist the overall Credit Dept. in managing bad debt charge by ensuring detailed underwriting and risk is completed.
