_**JOB PURPOSE**:_

The role is to provide a centre of excellence for product costing and negotiation associated with the sourcing and supply of mechanical / electrical components and systems throughout the Group. Working alongside the Production department, the role will ensure that the correct suppliers, price, delivery timescales and quality standards are achieved. First point of contact for all Flycom & Clement Clarke customers’, overseeing production and following all administrative tasks throughout the production cycle.
- **PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:_
- Be willing to undertake training, show willingness, enthusiasm and dedication to providing a first-class service to all customers within the New Build department.
- Maintain and input customer order information accurately onto MELOPS (Company Database) system, i.e. quotation, order entry, job card creation, release/despatch, invoicing.
- Complete full administration duties throughout the production process, ensuring all orders are flowed through in a timely manner whilst co-ordinating and assisting the team.
- Co-ordinate with production and despatch so that timelines are adhered to, whilst ensuring the customer is kept updated as to the status of their product and chase through any delays.
- Source from original manufacturers rather than distributors to achieve the right price without compromising quality standards.
- Have an overview of orders in the Contract Review process to ensure they will be processed in line with customers’ requirement in a timely manner and assist in feedback to customer where necessary.
- Co-ordinating and assisting to ensure suppliers deliver further operation purchase orders in a timely manner and reporting back to customers with any issues, maintaining the MEL Group’s reputation for commitment and professionalism.
- Assist with creating and sending Purchase Orders to suppliers for MEL Group Companies’.
- Generate BOM spreadsheets for specific builds and organise stock parts, request parts to be ordered where necessary.
- Liaise effectively with suppliers throughout each project, maintaining the MEL reputation for commitment and professionalism
- Create DAINS and liaise with customers to answer queries and expedite the release of goods.
- Provide clear structure of discounts on all accounts with suppliers
- Manage the sourcing and procurement of everyday consumables for a very busy production department
- Produce and communicate all MEL Group Companies weekly production schedules.
- Plan, organise and accurately monitor workload to meet strict deadlines
- Perform other duties as and when required by the manager of the department
- Confidently communicate with internal and external customers as and when required.
- **PERSONAL SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS**:_
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous buying experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment would be desirable
- Familiar with costing methodologies
- Negotiation skills
- Planning and organising - ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent team worker, with the ability and self-discipline to work alone effectively
- Self-motivated
- Maintain a professional attitude, keeping calm and controlled when working in demanding and pressurised environments.
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to change
- Excellent working knowledge of EXCEL
- Excellent numerical skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00 per year
