Whitfire is a family run business that manufactures shavings and sawdust. Timber is brought onto site to be graded and turned into shavings and sawdust, and leaves the site as bulk loads and bales.
- **Duties**
- Operate a telehandler to lift, move, and position logs.
- Transport logs to designated areas within the worksite
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the telehandler and log shaving machinery
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times
- **Qualifications**
- Must have mechanical knowledge and be able to perform basic maintenance on the telehandler
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating a telehandler or similar heavy equipment is a must.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and safety manuals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

A further element of the role includes ensuring that the cutting heads are sharp to maximise the operating efficiency of the shavers. Conducting daily checks and routine maintenance are further tasks that the role requires.

**Working hours are**:
06.00 to 18:00 - Monday to Friday

06.00 to 13:00 - Alternate Saturday's

Core time is 07:45 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, overtime is paid outside of that i.e.

06.00 - 08:00 + 17:00 - 18:00 plus all day Saturdays.

Overtime is rate x 1.5.

The probationary period of training is 3 months.

Breaktimes and lunchtimes are paid in addition to working time
