Oil Trading Assistant

**Our client is a trader of Commodity and Energy products including, Oil, Gas, Power, LNG etc. based in Central London. The business continues to grow, and develop into exciting new products; offering new employees a very entrepreneurial, fast pacedand changing environment to work in.**
You will provide analytical support and assist with understanding market fundamentals, collating MI and market reports, supporting trading strategies as well as monitoring exposure and p/l.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assist Traders across Trade Life Cycle. Maintain and analyse Market / Trade/ Counterparty related knowledge and data. Support pre/post-trade checks & controls, ensuring all key documents are properly maintained and referenced.
- Support the daily monitoring of position/ P&L across portfolios, analyse the imbalance and suggest corrective actions.
- Facilitate/ support Supply Planning (Physical & Sustainability Certificates) by collating demand forecast, scheduled sales, stock position, scheduled supply, etc. Provide support to maximise Blending value.
- Compile and analyse costs / performance KPIs across Trade Life Cycle
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Collate market reports and analyse current demand/supply trends in support of the trading desks.
- Review daily portfolio position and P&L. Analyse any imbalance/ discrepancy and escalate on required actions from responsible parties.
- Analyse direct costs, review trends and forecast based on plan activities.
- Perform groundwork supporting tender preparation and participation.
- Support pre/post-trade checks & controls, ensuring all key documents are properly maintained and referenced.
- Responsible to ensure counterparty readiness before loading, i.e., contracts in place/agreed, credit lines available to load / or financial tools required (opening LC’s etc)
- Analyse Pricing data feeding to pricing models.
- Facilitate/ support Supply Planning (Physical & Sustainability Certificates) by collating demand forecast, scheduled sales, stock position, scheduled supply, etc. Provide support to maximise Blending value.
- Compile and analyse costs / performance KPIs across Trade Life Cycle.
- Support any Management request for information.
**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:
- Degree educated in a discipline with strong mathematic contents - mathematics / statistics / physics / computational engineering (advanced level / post BSc preferred) or equivalent.
- Risk Analysis experience in a trading organisation (or other direct support function).
- Tech-savvy - mandatory.
- Knowledge on management, storage of data, market information, documentation - advantage.
- Detailed and meticulous individual with high self-discipline and structure/logic, and curious minded person.
- Excellent inter-personal skills.
- Multi-tasking and proactive. Understand time sensitive tasks.
