Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.

As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high-integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer to join the team. Your role will be primarily focused on early sourcing, market and supply chain management activity including supporting the Engineering Team in developing and managing supplier relationships for research and development activities.
- Key responsibilities will include:_
- Gathering and managing market intelligence in emerging technology markets
- Managing RFIs and RFQs both commercially and technically with the Engineering Team
- Protecting Evolito’s commercial interests in all supplier engagements, with a particular focus on the management of confidential information and intellectual property
- Building and managing supplier relationships
- Leading on sourcing projects through the full procurement lifecycle as directed by the Supply Chain Project Manager
- Managing non-disclosure agreements and the flow of information between multiple parties
- Communicating project plans, status reports and adherence to targets to stake holders at all levels of the business
- Working with suppliers the Engineering Team on supplier engagement reference design to cost activity
- Owning product and project cost targets and assisting in financial modelling for forecasts
- Skills and experience required:_
- Qualified to CIPS Level 4 or equivalent
- Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, both internal and external
- Ability to assess cost, quality and lead time risks/benefits and make appropriate procurement decisions for the goods and/or services requested
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions to deliver project and business objectives
- Ability to influence, challenge and understand business needs, including statements of work, and develop a commercial position that meets the business needs
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand and analyse supply chain cost drivers and actively use this analysis in negotiations
- A 'self-starter' attitude with energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to thrive in a small business environment
- Ability to work under pressure while managing conflicting demands against tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills A flexible approach to work
- Desirable:_
- Experience of procurement in a research and development environment
- Relevant business/commercial/manufacturing degree or NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification
- Experience using ERP systems
- Knowledge and experience of AS9100 or ISO9001
