Location - Bicester and Reading

Salary - S01/S02 £33,915 - £39,036

Hours - 37 per week

Contract - Permanent

Closing date - Sunday 26th** November 2023 at 23.59 hours**

**Job Purpose**:
Responsibilities will be and not limited to:
1. Engage with, implement and abide by departmental procedures in line with the requirements Forensic Science Regulator Codes of Practice and Conduct and the International Standards Organisation (ISO) 17020/17025 standards to provide a quality service through accreditation.

2. To examine in depth, vehicles, mechanically propelled or otherwise, which have been involved in road traffic collisions to ascertain their pre collision condition.

3. To establish whether there were any existing pre collision defects that could have been contributory to the collision.

4. To prepare and present detailed written technical reports in relation to the examination and findings.

5. To attend and give evidence in Crown Court, Coroners Court, Magistrates Court and Civil Court as required.

6. To maintain an extensive knowledge on the latest legislative requirements and technical details in respect of mechanically propelled vehicles.

**Essential Qualifications**:
Educated to QCF Level 3 OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.

Full UK Driving Licence Category B

**Desirable Qualifications**

To be an accredited Technician, or Master Technician

Any Other relevant motor manufacturers training courses

**Essential Experience**:
1. To have extensive experience in the motor industry, involving servicing and maintenance of vehicles dealing with a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicle types.

2. To have a sound knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and use of diagnostic equipment.

**Desirable**

Proven written and oral communication skills with the ability to compile comprehensive technical reports and to present them at formal proceedings

To be a current, or have had experience as an appointed MOT Nominated Tester.

To have in depth experience in modern vehicle technology.

To be qualified and competent in working on xEV vehicles.

Experience in the repair/servicing of motorcycles.

Experience in the repair/servicing of HGVs.
