**The role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the finance team at the UK’s number one property portal. We are looking for a finance assistant to work in the finance Payables team. This person will be responsible for a range of areas including employee expenses, bank mandates and admin, credit card payments, queries from the business including being a critical general support for other administrative matters within payroll and purchase ledger.

To succeed in the role, you will need to be organized, task and deadline focused and able to handle queries in a clear way and on a timely basis.

***A typical week as a Finance Assistant might involve**
- Processing employee expenses and preparing the payment file
- Processing credit card payments into our finance system (Netsuite)
- Processing company car mileage and deductions for payroll
- Reporting on staff budget
- Dealing with bank administration, log in and access/controls
- Assisting in processing purchase ledger transactions
- A variety of ad hoc matters to support the finance team as required

**We’re looking for someone who**
- Has a strong work ethic, a proactive attitude, takes ownership of their own workload and is an open and honest team player - whilst willing to ‘muck in’ to ensure success of the team as a whole
- Is numerate with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Has excellent Excel skills
- Has a professional and organised approach and is able to do an initial self-review of their own work
- Is not afraid to ask questions and utilise the experience of those around them
- Is able to prioritise and deliver results to strict monthly deadlines, proactively managing a busy workload
- Ideally has some knowledge of finance systems (general ledger systems, expenses system) but training will be given
- Has a willingness to adapt to the constantly changing needs of the team and the business as a whole
