**The Opportunity**

**Is this role right for you?**

We are seeking excellent working knowledge of planning legislation, associated circulars, guidance and regulation and must be a chartered town planner (a member of the RTPI) or working towards chartership. You will be confident in communicating and presenting work to internal and external audiences and show passion for developing your own skills and career, as well as those of the wider team. Proven ability in the delivery of high-quality written outputs is also essential.

Essential/desirable skills and knowledge:

- Degree level qualification in a Town Planning related field and Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) / working towards chartership;
- Managing assignments / tasks within wider team and / or sub-consultant management;
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills;
- Ability to undertake short-term travel in the UK and overseas when such opportunity arises
- Desirable experience in policy development and plan preparation along with experience in socio-economic assessment.
- Experience in contributing to integrated impact assessment and business case preparation would be ideal
- Desirable experience in the planning for and completion of public consultation events as part of the planning process;
- Experience in the consenting of major infrastructure projects under the Development Consent Order regime would be a bonus.
- Ideally having worked with infrastructure and built environment clients.
- Understanding the commercial aspects involved in managing projects.
