This is a new opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our busy HR Team. Our global employee-owned company operates within the UK, Finland, Sweden and Kazakhstan and can offer a fast-paced role where the HR Advisor will provide support in a variety of areas.

This role will require competency in working to conflicting and pressurised deadlines, working on a variety of tasks at any one time and dealing with people at all levels within the organisation (UK and colleagues from other overseas practices).

As HR Advisor you will work with the HR Coordinator, People Coordinator, HR Manager, Company Secretary and Senior Management to ensure all policies and processes are up brought to date and kept in line with best practice and ever evolving legislative requirements.

The HR Advisor with a specific focus on employee relations (ER) work, will play a critical role in proactively creating and delivering our ER strategy in accordance with our People Roadmap, and maintaining people practices within the company’s workplaces in the UK, Finland, Sweden and Kazakhstan.

The role will particularly focus on: employment law; policies and procedures; employment contracts; insurance, risk management and compliance; and people projects and relationships.

**Duties/Responsibilities overview**:
**Employment law**
- Providing expert consistent advice to employees and leaders on matters relating to employment law
- Maintaining a clear understanding and providing up to date knowledge of the HR legal framework and keeping abreast of modern HR procedures and best practice
- Attend internal and external training events in order to keep abreast of employment law developments across the three jurisdictions
- Undertaking research and developing knowledge of employment law in relevant non-UK jurisdictions such as Finland and Kazakhstan

**Policies and procedures**
- Creating, reviewing, and updating people policies and procedures, and providing support to the Company Secretary in ensuring compliance and best practice
- Monitoring ongoing compliance with people policies and procedures, and reporting any non-compliance

**Employment contracts**
- Drafting and managing employment contracts and documentation throughout the employment lifecycle
- Responding to employees and leaders on any employment contract queries. Providing advice on changes to employment contracts including managing terminations and TUPE transfers, etc
- Completing periodic reviews of employment contracts and updating these in line with current legislation and best practice. Managing any necessary information and consultation process
- Maintaining and tracking contract documentation, including contract variations, through IRIS and other system in a timely manner
- Drafting, reviewing and updating role profiles across the business as necessary

**Insurance, risk management and compliance**
- Taking a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring people risks and issues are identified, addressed, and reported to the Company Secretary
- Supporting the Company Secretary in managing company-wide insurance people policies
- Reviewing processes, IRIS and other systems to ensure these are up to date, accurate, processed, and controlled in accordance with data protection laws and regulations
- Monitoring compliance with working time regulations and maintaining and tracking relevant documentation in IRIS and other systems in a timely manner
- Ensuring various other systems and internal databases are up to date, accurate and controlled and processed in accordance with the GDPR and DPA
- Assisting with the Right to Work checks and working closely with the HR Co-ordinator and HR Manager to address any issues or risks

**People practices and employee relations**
- Overseeing people practices ensuring they are legally compliant
- Providing advice and guidance to leaders on people practices such as performance management, disciplinary issues, grievances, absence management, company structure and organisational design, dispute resolution, and succession planning (non-exhaustive)
- Managing a wide and varied employee relations caseload
- Assisting employees and leaders through line management and/or matrix management, inclusive of performance management processes
- Providing advice and guidance to leaders in relation to complex people disputes and resolutions. The cases in question may be varied and may include support with investigations, grievance/disciplinary process (including appeals), mediation, coaching, etc.
- Maintaining and tracking employee relation case records and documentation through IRIS and other systems and procedures in a timely manner
