Job description

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Clerk to the NASS Board of Trustees.

**Your pivotal role in supporting our Board of Trustees**

**Salary**: Pro rata, £28,860 to £38,480 (£15-£20 per hour dependent on experience)

**Hours**: Varied, 2.5 to 3 hours a week annualised approximately 125 hours a year (17 days)

**Location**:Home based with travel to meetings across the UK several times a year.

**Pension**: NASS will either contribute 10% of the salary into an employee’s private personal pension or the NASS organisational pension scheme.

**Annual leave**:Pro rata annual leave - 25 days per year, plus bank holidays.

**Contract**: Contracted service on an annual basis

As a highly organised and diligent Clerk, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of our governance structure, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and facilitating effective communication among trustees, stakeholders, and the executive team.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Being the point of contact for NASS trustees and providing general administrative support for trustee activities.
- Handling sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Staying informed of legal and regulatory requirements affecting NASS and advising the NASS Chair and Key Officers’ Group on governance.
- Acting as Company Secretary and ensuring statutory returns and updates are made to the Charity Commission and Companies House.

**Your skills, qualifications, experience & attributes**

You will have:

- Proven experience as a charity clerk and familiar with charity governance and regulations in the UK.
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of financial procedures and budgeting processes within a charity context.
