Job Description: Kitchen Assistant

The duties of a kitchen assistant will include:

- Helping and supporting the cook to deliver the menu meals to the required standard.
- Assisting the care team in ensuring residents receive food and drinks throughout the day.
- Supporting the cook in the effective operation of the kitchen.
- Playing an active role in the cleanliness and order of the dining room, kitchen, pantry and stores.
- Preparing, cooking and serving meals to residents within the care home.
- Developing healthy and balanced meals in consultation with residents and staff.
- Being aware of people’s diets and backgrounds and how this might impact on their meals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware
- Organise and stock ingredients and supplies
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen environment

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary

Note: This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 18 per week
