Thomas Cookie Co is a rapidly growing food manufacturing family bakery business. We are passionate about people and about food. With high quality indulgent cookies as our main ingredient, we currently produce a wide range of quality frozen 'bake off' and craft bakery products. We’re now looking for **Seasonal Kitchen Assistants** to join our team on a temporary basis during busy seasons. Your main task is to assist with the bake, pick and pack products in an efficient and timely manner and to the highest possible quality standards (doing quality checks on your own). We have a no job is not my job culture here.

*Please note that this job is Monday to Friday only, and shifts may vary between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

**What you’ll be doing day to day**
- Working as part of the bakery team in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and tempering food ingredients
- Cleaning and sanitising the food preparation areas and equipment based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards
- Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens
- Assisting with managing inventory, unloading supplies and organising the storeroom
- Monitoring the standard of ingredients
- Measuring and weighing wet and dry ingredients
- Using mixers to blend the ingredients
- Following procedures for prepping and piping ingredients
- Baking items in ovens and setting timers
- Crafting, creating and tasting new and exciting baked goods
- Packaging and arranging baked goods for shipping
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery according to plan
- Ensure Health & Safety guidelines/procedures are being adhered to at all times, and that you are complying with company policy of Clean as You Go within your workstation
- Ensure Food Quality/Safety and legality procedures and checks, sign offs & paperwork is completed as per requirements
- Ensure all products are packed efficiently and correctly labelled
- Report any Out of Spec Products/Machinery issues/Non-Conformances/ to team promptly

**Required Skills**:

- Experience in catering, must have worked in a kitchen or studied catering.
- In-depth understanding of food health and safety regulations
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Exceptional physical stamina and strength
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
- Follow and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
- Must have good math skills
- Experience within manufacturing environment required, with knowledge of operating machinery an advantage

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Part-time hours: 0-38 per week

**Salary**: £7.00-£10.00 per hour
