**Automotive Electrician / Build Technician**

**Location**:Belper, Derbyshire, UK**

Experienced **Auto Electrician / Build Technician** is required for a world leading automotive company, based in Belper, with a global reputation for quality, passion, and performance. They have been the UK pioneer of Rally Raid racing cars and have since become a market leader in the design and production of high-performance vehicles developing some ofthe most innovative, durable, and exciting all-terrain vehicles currently in production.

**The Role**:
The **Auto Electrician / Build Technician** will assist in the build and repair of vehicle electrical systems to the manufacturer’s agreed specification. You will be carrying out diagnostic investigations on reported vehicle defects using laptops,multi-meters, and other test equipment to identify faults. As the **Auto Electrician / Build Technician** you’ll be assisting in vehicle builds & electrical sub-assemblies in the workshop and work closely with development teams working on harnesslayouts, vehicle schematics and i-0 lists as well as building the harnesses themselves.

The **Auto Electrician / Build Technician**will have a varied role, which will draw on their working knowledge of modern automotive systems and electrical systems, circuit diagrams and components.

Key Responsibilities of the Auto Electrician / Build Technician:

- Support vehicle builds in the workshop
- Builds wiring harnesses
- Assist with development of harness layouts, vehicle schematics and i-0 lists
- Read and clear fault codes from all ECU’S
- Re-flash all ECU’s on the vehicle
- Use of CANalyzer to take a trace from a vehicle
- Record/ report issues on vehicle/harness build and vehicles in service
- Carry out fault finding / diagnostics
- Report and record change requests on harness development
- Build electrical sub-assemblies
- Assist in productionising electrical harnesses
- Support with site uplift activities
- Support with electrical investigations - CPAP system
- Support with the engineering change request process
- Follow site H&S rules, processes, and procedures
- Maintain electrical workshop
- Maintain electrical consumable stores, including re-ordering of stock
- Assist with event, race, and rally activities when required

Essential skills and experience:

- Previous experience within an Auto Electrician / Build Technician position
- Previous experience developing vehicle harness and schematics
- A good working knowledge of fault finding and tracing
- Previous electrical sub-assembly build experience

Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 8.00am - 17.15pm Friday: 8.00am - 14.15pm
