Pre-analytical Supervisor

Applicants are invited for the post of Pre-Analytical Supervisor within the Blood Sciences Department of Pathology.

Individuals will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is enthusiastic and well-motivated.

The role is to support the Pre-Analytical Manager and Deputy Manager across ABUHB including the Grange University Hospital, Royal Gwent Hospital and Nevill Hall Hospital.

The Blood Sciences reception is primarily responsible for the receipt of patient specimens predominantly blood samples, from primary and secondary care across the ABUHB catchment. Once receipted these specimens are entered electronically onto the Laboratory Information System before being passed into the Blood Science laboratory for diagnostic testing.

You will be based in Pathology at our hub in the Grange University Hospital but will be required to rotate across all sites as necessary.

You will be expected to oversee the day to day running of the Blood Sciences Reception.

The post is a full-time permanent role, covering 37.5 hrs Mon - Fri, although occasional weekend / out of hours work may be required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
