Job Title: Experienced Dog Groomer

**Salary**: £23,500 + (dependent on experience)

Benefits: 28 days annual leave entitlement, yearly performance-based bonuses, team days out through the year. On-site Accommodation (shared).

Hours: 42.5 hours a week based on a 5 day week Sun-Thurs. Rota supplied each month (weekend, bank holiday and evening work may be required) additional hours - night walks between 8-9pm once or twice a week.

Contract: Full time, permanent - options for part-time work with full time needed for maternity cover towards mid to end of summer.

Location: Talog, Carmarthenshire.

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity for an experienced dog groomer to join the in house grooming team at top dog training and boarding establishment in Carmarthen. This is a multi-faceted role within a close knit team and there is an expectation during quieter periods for groomers to help with other elements of welfare such as feeds and walks.

**Duties**:

- Must be able to groom a minimum of 5 dogs a day.
- Level 2 or 3 diploma in Dog Grooming preferred or equivalent grooming experience to a high standard.
- Follow strict guidelines to maintain the cleanliness of ‘our guests’ areas to the highest standards including cleaning and disinfecting animal accommodation, food preparation areas, laundry and outside areas
- Carry out daily health checks and report any physical changes to management
- Handling and exercising groups of dogs, including a couple of weekly night walks
- Understanding basic approach to training and meeting a standard of dog handling so as not to untrain dogs. Training given to help meet standards.
- Ad Hoc duties as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

You will be reliable, upbeat and in good shape with an eye for detail. You are able to take responsibility for your time, ensuring you complete given tasks in a timely manner. You will be proactive, comfortable handling a range of dogs and have good common sense. You will be a good communicator and be able to delegate tasks and provided regular feedback for owners and management.

SKILLS
- Experience with grooming a range of dogs including maintaining ears, teeth and nails.
- Experience with Hand stripping
- Experience with Microsoft office and use of other database systems
